Stephanie Kirchner re-joined us in May as our ACT/Practice Transformation Specialist. She will spend about half her time coaching and evaluating for the ACT project and the other half of her time working on setting up a model for integrating all of our many practice transformation/evaluation/integration efforts. Stephanie came from HealthTeamWorks, and was previously a member of the DFM as a PRA-type a few years ago, so she may look familiar!
Jameel Mallory is our new Research Program Coordinator and he will be supporting projects that Perry, Bonnie and Doug are working on, as well as providing administrative support to our research leaders (Don and Jodi) and serving as one of the department’s travel/expense coordinators. Jameel has a background in workforce development and screening (in the real world) and recently was working at the Health Sciences Library.
Barbara Martin is a new Senior PRA in the department, working with Ben Miller and the policy group on various projects. Barbara recently completed her Master’s in Public Health and has previously worked as an NP in Cardiology.
Jessica Pittrizzi is the new CFHA Administrative Assistant. She is working with Polly to promote the CFHA and grow its membership. Jessie has a background in hospitality, social media and special events and has already made a dent in the backlog!
Mark Deutchman has been named the Interim Director of AHEC effective 6/1.
Terry Kosel hit the jackpot – he’s moving to Reno, NV where he can play poker AND keep his job – he will start telecommuting in a few weeks.
Jonathan Radin recently was promoted to the DFA in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R)!
Jack Westfall has accepted the Director of Health position for the brand new Colorado Health Cooperative. He’ll still be hanging around, though, working on HPRN projects and losing at fantasy football.

University of Colorado Denver | Anschutz Medical Campus employees who have reached milestone years of service were applauded May 31 for their uncommon loyalty, energetic spirit and dedication to students. The annual awards ceremony recognizes employees who have completed five, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 years of service, or even longer. The luncheon recognized 230 employees at the Four Seasons Hotel Denver. Vice President for Health Affairs and Executive Vice Chancellor for the Anschutz Medical Campus Lilly Marks and Chancellor Don Elliman spoke to the large crowd before Kevin Jacobs, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Human Resources, announced the long-term employees. The DFM had two employees in attendance – Regina Garrison, our Academic Affairs Coordinator (Appointments and Promotions) who has 15 years with the department and our Senior Software Design Specialist, Kelli Giacomini who has been here for five years! Congratulations!
